Planning Fire-Resilient Counties in the Wildland-Urban Interface

Published by National Association of Counties(NACo) this publication is a guide to wildfire risk and mitigation. With nearly 80,000 wildfires occurring during one year in 2008 it is important now more than ever that county and local planners work in collaboration with local fire agencies, emergency managers, and other key stakeholder to incorporate prudent fire criteria into planning policy to adequately protect local residents fro the risk and impacts of wildfire.
