Economic Recovery – What Happens After the Storm? Webinar

At the end of June 2013, Southern Alberta experienced the worst flood in its history. Environment Canada reports three major storms, a week apart, drenched the region generating record water levels, inundating many southern Alberta towns and forcing thousands to evacuate. The flooding wasn’t just isolated to Alberta; a number of communities in Southeast British Columbia were also impacted.

Economic development organizations have a critical role in future economic recovery efforts. EDA and EDABC realize their members will, and must play a lead role in their respective region’s economic rebuilding efforts. This Webinar is an important tool to help initiate that process.

“Economic Recovery: What Happens After the Storm?” participants will learn about the various stages of economic recovery as well as practical examples of what does and doesn’t work. For this Webinar, we are pleased to have three extremely experienced, well-respected leaders from IEDC and its “Restore Your Economy” project as panelists:

  • Jeff Finkle, President & CEO, International Economic Development Council (IEDC)
  • Mickie Valente, President, Valente Strategic Advisers, LLC
  • Shannon Full, President & CEO, Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce

The event will be moderated by Charmaine Hammond of Hammond International Inc. For more information on panelist and moderator bios and experience click here.
