Dec 5, 2011 – PS-Prep: A New FEMA Resource for Business Continuity
PS-Prep is a new set of standards adopted by FEMA to encourage private sector preparedness. Small businesses, corporations and nonprofits can voluntarily become PS-Prep certified under a set of business continuity and recovery standards adopted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Businesses can choose between three PS-Prep standards:
1) Disaster and Emergency Management and Business Continuity: For businesses seeking a holistic approach to preparedness.
2) Organizational Resilience and Security Preparedness and Continuity Management: For businesses seeking to prevent, prepare for and respond to disruptive incidents.
3) Business Continuity Management: For businesses desiring to develop a business continuity plan.
PS-Prep offers best practices, standards and certification services depending on a business’s level of engagement. The certification process can also be tailored to each business, and costs are relatively low.
