Coordination Call for New York Post-Sandy Economic Recovery Practitioners

The Federal Government is working with national and regional groups to coordinate the resources available for economic recovery in communities and regions of New York affected by Superstorm Sandy. They have scheduled a conference call for this Wednesday, December 12th to facilitate valuable communication between local, state, tribal, and federal stakeholders. A conference call on Wednesday, December 12th may help you in those efforts. The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) is partnering with NADO/BCLC/NACo and the US Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration in implementing the National Disaster Recovery Framework, including communication on these coordination calls. Within the National Disaster Recovery Framework there exists the Economic Recovery Support Function. The mission of the Economic RSF is to integrate the expertise of the Federal government to help local, state, and tribal governments and the private sector sustain and/or rebuild businesses and employment, and develop economic opportunities that result in sustainable and economically resilient communities, after significant natural and man-made disasters.
