This presentation assess the economic impacts and business recovery efforts for a group of community and business stakeholders associated with the San Diego Regional Chamber. IEDC with support from BCLC sent a panel of experts to San Diego County to offer economic recovery technical assistance after the 2007 wildfires. Based on a tour of affected areas & meetings with key stakeholders, the IEDC Team sought to:
  • Perform an Assessment of Economic & Business Recovery to:  1) Evaluate the nature and scale of damage  2)Identify critical needs  3) Consult on next steps
  • Bring an experienced outsider’s perspective to the role of local and federal government and the private sector in long-term economic recovery
  • Identify recovery needs & opportunities to meet current challenges and prepare for the future
