The Obama Administration in the fall of 2010 put forward an aggressive long-term recovery plan, including a call for dedicated funds, to help strengthen the Gulf region’s environment, economy, and health following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. This report provides recommendations on five topic areas to ensure a seamless recovery and restoration effort in Gulf Coast.

Additional recommendations outlined in the report include that the Departments of Health and Human Services, Commerce, Agriculture, and Labor, in conjunction with the Small Business Administration (SBA), the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Corporation for National Community Service (CNCS), and other agencies, continue their important recovery work in close coordination with state and local governments and organizations.
