Free Economic Resiliency and Disaster Preparedness Mentoring
Does your community have a disaster preparedness plan? How do you respond to a disaster and who do you contact? Have you reached out to your business community about business continuity? Would you like to receive recommendations from consultants and experienced practitioners at no cost?
IEDC is offering mentoring to communities and regions that were impacted by providentially-declared disasters from October, 2010 to September, 2011. Not sure if you qualify? Fill out this online form and we'll contact you with a response. Communities will have the opportunity to receive feedback and recommendations from experienced consultants and practitioners.
Potential topics for discussion include but are not limited to:
- Economic recovery action plan development and/or review
- Disaster Preparedness strategies
- Updating strategic plan post-disaster
- Economic diversification
- Rebuilding an industry
- Developing or expanding tourism strategies
- Business retention and expansion
- Crisis communication plan
- Updating community branding and marketing strategy
- Small business financing strategies
- Strengthening the entrepreneurship ecosystem
- Retraining workers
- Conducting a downtown or main street analysis
- Addressing vacant or blighted areas
- Strengthening partnerships and regional collaboration
- Developing a public-private partnership or private organization
