Upcoming Workshop - Nashville, TN - Building Economic Resilience through Regional Partnerships & Local Business Continuity

  The NADO Research Foundation is pleased to invite you to participate in an upcoming workshop, “Weathering the Storm: Building Economic Resilience through Regional Partnerships & Local Business Continuity.”  This free event is designed as a learning and networking opportunity for local and regional stakeholders in disaster-impacted communities in the Southeast.  The workshop, organized by the NADO Research Foundation and supported by the U.S. Economic Development Administration, will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, August 5-6 in Nashville, TN.  (Travel funding is available, more information is below) Participants will come together to share their experiences in the wake of recent natural disasters and other economic disruptions, discuss lessons learned in recovering from those disasters, and identify strategies to become better prepared for future events.  The event will include educational sessions highlighting tools to identify regional vulnerabilities and to engage local businesses in continuity planning; opportunities to network with peers and strengthen regional partnerships; and a mobile learning opportunity showcasing local business and community recovery efforts in the aftermath of the devastating 2010 flooding of the Cumberland River. REGISTRATION & LOCATION: Sign up for the workshop online, by using this form.  It only takes a few minutes!  Space is limited and registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis.   This workshop is intended for an interdisciplinary audience of economic developers, emergency managers, business representatives, local officials, and any other key local and regional stakeholders involved in building resilience to natural disasters and other economic shocks. The workshop will be held at the Millennium Maxwell House, located close to all of the amenities of downtown Nashville, Tennessee – the hotel provides courtesy shuttle service to and from downtown.
