IEDC Publishes Report on Post-Disaster Metrics
IEDC, in association with the University of Pennsylvania and the Fels Institute of Government, recently published the paper, "Performance Metrics for Economic Recovery following Natural Disasters". In this report, intended for local and regional economic developers, author Washiq Ahmed examines how metrics can be used to establish locally-based economic recovery indicators, with social equity in mind. Ahmed examines nine case studies of areas sustaining disasters, between 2011 and 2021, including the COVID-19 pandemic.
